My name is Jasmine. I live on the island of Oahu with my husband and two amazing boys Kainoa and Kekoa. We love to feel the sand beneath our toes and sun on our skin, any day at the beach is a good day.

As the founder of Kainoa Nani Swimwear I strive to provide beautifully crafted beach wear to each and every customer. Every item sold by Kainoa Nani Swimwear has the allure of the Aina in mind.

I named Kainoa Nani Swimwear after my first born Kainoa. The meaning of Kainoa is 'Child of the Sea' while Nani means 'Beautiful' in the Hawaiian language. When I look at my son I see a little boy who embodies everything I love, all in one person. Most of all, I love his love for the ocean.

We are a very water-oriented family.  I am a surfer; my husband a rescue swimmer, first for the Navy, now freelance doing relief effort around the world. We both plan our lives around the ocean's swells. We love the waves that flow freely to shore as well as the mystery that the ocean holds in it's depths. (My husband even proposed to me while surfing at the beach we first met!)

The ocean is to our souls what blood is to our bodies. We simply cannot live without it.

Being a mother of two I know the struggle of finding a swimsuit that fits my ever changing body type. Even more so, I know the struggle of loving my every changing body type. Hence the drive behind Kainoa Nani, providing well crafted swimwear that evokes the beauty of those who wear it.

We as women are all beautifully and wonderfully made, every body type and every skin color, we simply need to find ways to showcase that beauty. Being that I spend 80% of my life at the beach or in the water Kainoa Nani Swimwear is my way of feeling beautiful again.

Psalms 139:14 says:

"I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;[a]
... that my soul knows very well."

My goal as founder of Kainoa Nani Swimwear is not just to provide well-crafted swimwear, it goes much deeper than that. I have always had a heart for helping others whether it's a small act of kindness or traveling to another country to be a part of something bigger than myself. There is a need in this world that is not getting met and I feel lead, personally, to go out and help meet that need.

When I traveled to Kenya, Africa to work with an organization called Camp Ohana my eyes were opened to a crises that I have never seen before and a need that went beyond 'thoughts and prayers'. Children are starving, people are dying of curable sicknesses like the flu. A vast majority of children are so poor they can't afford a pencil to use in school let alone pay for schooling. It broke my heart to see such calamitous conditions for these people. But, what I loved more than anything else was that despite their living conditions and the lack of food and clean water their spirits were never broken. They are the most loving, giving, happy people I have ever met. They deserve a life like any other human being. They deserve to not just survive but succeed; because, they too are beautifully and wonderfully made.
